The blue lights were so bright off the back of Nationals Stadium looking over at Anacostia.
(The Nats beat the Mets by the way!)

I thought that the tops of these shelves in Starbuck's were interesting. Swirls!

Sunday at the Botanical Gardens Continued

I took a lot of photos that I liked at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens so I decided to put some of my favorites in an extended post. The one I actually chose for the photo of the day is in the post below!

This was by far my favorite flower. The colors were bright and all of the buds bloomed downwards!

If you look very closely you can see a spider on the top of the bottom flower.

Hey Mom! Another flower that blooms from bottom to top!

A gazebo on the lake that was unnaturally teal but still pretty!

My turtle friend. He likes algae.

Heads. I'm not really sure why.

At the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna. I found this guy in the Butterfly garden. He's a baby butterfly.

Moral of the National Book Festival: Judy Blume is cooler than Nicholas Sparks.

The shattered glass on one side of a bus waiting station. If you look behind the shattered gladd you can see the sidewalk and the advertisement on the other side. Scary, but a cool texture.

I had recently seen the Jim Carey movie "Yes Man" and so when I saw this license plate it made me smile.

The stems of these really interesting looking flowers that Terence gave me.

A perfect photo to represent the muggy morning. The top of the electrical tower is gone!

Monday, September 21, 2009

This was such an oddly blooming flower that when I saw it on Tenley campus I had to take a photo.

I took a photo of this interesting painted McDonald's ad on my way to dinner with Hilary in U-Street. I've never seen people that happy at McDonald's.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

While inhaling my lunch on campus I found myself across the street from the brightest red in the world.

I collect postcards so I was exciting when my mom sent me this amazing one that she bought in Acapulco in 1976.

Great Falls National Park in Virginia was BEAUTIFUL. Today was a great day for photos. The Adams Morgan festival in the morning and this park in the afternoon.

You will never believe what this is when I tell you. It's cream cheese.

I thought this photo was appropriate for the 11th. More rain and a beautiful flower against a fence.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

I'm not sure what kind of plant this is but I thought the red stem popped and the raindrops were cool looking.

A piece of one of my favorite paintings. Something about paintings are so calming. A calm that was very much welcomed.

So this is not the photo of the day for my Photo 365 project, but it is of a 20 day old puppy of Karen's that is deserving enough to be featured. Look at that face!!

After much deliberation, I think I have chosen this photo. There was a close runner up of some windmills (seen below) that would more acurately depict the cloudy dreary day it was in Pennsylvania, but this flower is just so interesting. Thoughts?

At home for Labor Day Weekend. Budwiser asks you to "please recycle."

It's busy, but it's a poster from off of the wall in my office. Some days are photoless -- hence, photos from my office.

I went to Sweet Water Tavern last night for the first time out in Vienna. I think it's like Gordon Biersch gone Southern. They did have quite a crabcake though! On the way out saw this sign.

My Cappuccino Cheesecake from Whole Foods. It kind of looks like a G design.

My dance class is in an old chapel. Odd, right? The music echoes like no other and there are no bars but I'm not going to lie, the stained glass windows are BEAUTIFUL.
