My mother and I love to play Scrabble. This photo opportunity came up during a game this past weekend.

Usually I don't go for bugs, so don't expect them in a lot (if not any more) of my Project 365 photos. This one happened to get stuck on the car window on my way home the other day and despite 65 mile an hour winds rushing by it as it stuck to the outside of the window, it held on. Photo worthy in my opinion.

The subject of the picture of the day is yet again taken by New Jersey's famous tree frogs. Maybe not New Jersey's famous tree frogs but definitely famous in my back yard.

Picture of the day consists of the sixth book and the backyard at home as the backdrop.

Throwback Photo

THROWBACK PHOTO: April 7, 2009
This was a genre separator in a used and rare bookstore in DuPont. Witty and creative.

PHOTO OF THE DAY: My mother's new creation out of our archaic liscense plate, back when they used to give the plates back to you. I captured a ton of photos of some tree frogs on our deck but few came out. BaH. Dreams of when I buy a new camera . . .

ALERT: This is not a staged photo. Walking back to my apartment from work this flower was perched on top of a hiddeous cable box smushed by a crinkled sign for summer campaign jobs. I like to call it city beautiful.

I got an abnormally large box from Uncommon Goods, my new favorite web site selling cool/reused items. Not that I'm advertising, but in my lonely room this box got 100 times more interesting.

Favorite Picture of the Week

This week my parents and I went to the National Harbor. It was quite a drive but I think it was worth it. From the boardwalk you can see the arm of the Awakening sculpture that was recently moved and the sunset in the background over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

So this isn't one of my favorites but out of 365 days there have to be some duds, right? I bought an energy saving light bulb for the lamp right by the door and it's not quite a yellow light, but a bright white one. It casts an interesting light on the drapes and that corner of the room. Hopefully better ones today.

This was my first professional soccer game. I went to see the DC United. Soccer fans are intense! If you can see in the foreground some men are standing on their chairs attempting to rally the crowd. The stands are seemingly empty but that doesn't correlate with the energy in the stadium!

I have a thing for unique flowers, you'll see that trend through my Project 365 photos. This flower I found on the side of a sidewalk in DuPont while walking with my mother.

Let's Start at the Very Beginning . . .

I am in the midst of working on Project 365 (attached here if you're interested; http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/) in which you take a photo each day and after a full year, you have recounted an entire year of your life, day by day. I started on January 20th, 2009, not to be cheesey but I had an amazing picture from Inauguration morning and decided, why not start now?

I am now on day 174 of 365 and just now realized that starting a photoblog would be a cool idea. So here goes. I'll do my best to post that days photo or any other photos I thought were cool, intriguing, amazing, from that day or previous. Feel free to comment! I'll also add a tiny description of location and other relevant information so you don't look at my photo and go, "wow, great, what is this?"

Since it's almost 10am, I don't have a photo for today but based on my feelings about the concert I'm going to tonight, I will :). But I will post one from yesterday and the day prior to get your photo jitters going.

I took this photo while walking down Embassy Row with my parents. These red stakes used to be used hundred of years ago as warning systems for towns people to alert the police. Now, in DC, they are used to explain a little bit about the area you're standing in. In DuPont they explain a little about the history of the embassies and here on Embassy Row this dove of peace in litered with flags from different countries, with a description about diplomacy.

This photo from yesterday was my father's dinner from Hanks Oyster Bar, apparently a must visit in DC if you're into the raw bar atmosphere. After being at work all day my dad's east and west coast oysters were a nice subject.

More tomorrow!
